Councillor Corner - September 2020

Councillor Wayne Curtis

Wayne could be seen as the new kid on the block as he was only elected in February of this year.
Although born in the Meadow Road area of the Melyn, he has lived in the Cefn Saeson Ward for the last 20 years. He has 3 children - the youngest attends Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School, his middle child is about to start at Neath College, whilst his oldest is about to start her masters after studying forensic investigation in Staffordshire University.

As a parent he is actively involved with Cimla AFC, whilst being a parent Governor within Cefn Saeson School and an LEA in Alderman Davies School to which he is proud to be actively involved with both schools.
He has worked for Neath Port Talbot Country Borough Council (former Neath Borough) for 27 years, now as a principal officer.

Wayne is extremely proud to have been recently elected on the Town Council as his late father served on the Town Council and was lucky enough to be Town Mayor for the period 1990-91.

Wayne has strong community values and feels that the Cimla and Neath as a whole has so much to offer.
During these recent challenging times he hopes you and your families stay safe and as positive as you can.
