Mayor sawing a wooden reindeer

Cllr. Bob Price & Sara Price Neath Town Mayor and Mayoress visited their workshop recently and met Ewan and Jason. Ewan is the leading woodworker and has been inundated with orders for reindeer which are only £10 each. All the proceeds from the sale of the reindeer go back into Clarewood, Neath to support young people.

These fantastic workshops provide practical skills, confidence and communication skills as well as being part of a real social enterprise. This can be the stepping stone for our young people to facilitate their own workshops, showing others or to go onto college or work.

Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School's Production of School of Rock - July 2019

School of Rock poster

Last night saw the Mayoress and I at Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School’s performance of School of Rock. WOW what a performance! Again we were amazed at the ability of the staff and children to put on a performance that would equal that of the West End. The acting and singing was superb, with quality that is unbelievable from those of such a young age. It would be wrong to single out anyone but the the part of Dewey Finn was such a demanding one that I must complement Ryan Protheroe on his flawless performance. CEFN SAESON YOU ROCKED!

An annual event in which all the children of the school from year 2 take part, led by the leavers of year 6. I have, as a grandparent, attended these performances for over 10 years and have been amazed at the skill and enthusiasm of those taking part. This year was no exception. It was a wonderful, magical performance. Well done everyone involved, children and of course the hard working staff.

I really felt part of the family of the Neath Community and the family of the Benefice of Neath. I am so proud and honoured to hold this office of Neath Town Mayor
