At their last Council meeting (11.01.18)  Neath Town Councillors have secured a contract to supply Christmas decorations and lights for the Town.

After the success of last year’s Christmas Carol Concert and Christmas Light Switch On event and positive feedback from the public and community, the Town Council were committed to continuing to provide Christmas Lights for the town for the next three years.

Neath Town Mayor, Cllr Mark Protheroe confirmed ‘We are delighted to be able to enter into a three year contract with Commercial Christmas. After undertaking a review of the Council’s budget and then agreeing to increase the budget to provide additional lights in the town, the Council entered into a tender process for the procurement of Christmas Lights in Neath. Members have now agreed a contract for a three year term to 2020. This further supports the activities which are being arranged throughout the town during the festive period and will also enhance the Christmas shopping experience.”

Mr Tim Lewis added “I am delighted that Commercial Christmas have been awarded this contract for the next three years. The light provision for Neath has grown year on year and we are excited to be working with Neath Town Council to develop, improve and enhance the lighting provision for Neath”.

A community events team will now lead the preparation for this year’s Christmas Carol Concert and Light Switch On which will take place on Friday, 23rd November 2018.
