Neath Christmas Lights Switch-On 2021

Neath Town Council fund and provide the Christmas Lights in Neath, these will be illuminated from Friday, 19^th November. 

Neath’s Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ Event is also funded and provided by Neath Town Council. This will not take place.

The ‘Switch On’ event is held in Angel Square and requires permissions by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council to use their land. At the time when Neath Town Council wished to proceed, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council stated that no events were permitted until further notice. When permissions were granted there was insufficient time for the Town Council to plan as the event is not a parade, has no restricted access or allocated seating.

Like you, Neath Town Council are bitterly disappointed the Christmas Lights Switch On event is not taking place this year, however we are developing an Events programme for 2022 when it is hoped that COVID rates will have stabilized.

The Town Council are providing an alternative ‘virtual’ light switch on which will connect the community. This is currently running in partnership with The Wave.
